Michigan CAT offers a wide range of employee benefits for all full-time employees. Most benefits are available on the first of the month following 90 days of service. Health Benefits: Michigan CAT offers a comprehensive cafeteria plan for Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug and Hearing that are available for non-union employees to choose from. You have the opportunity to select the benefit plan that best meets the needs of you and your family. Union employees are covered on the Operating Engineers Welfare and Benefit Plan. Profit Sharing: After a full calendar year of service with 1,000 or more hours of work, all Michigan CAT employees are automatically participants in the Company Profit Sharing Plan. Monies from the company profits are put directly into your 401k/Savings Plan. Retirement: Employees are eligible to participate in the 401k plan with pre-tax earnings up to the maximum deferral limits set by the Internal Revenue Service. We strongly encourage employees to save for their financial future. Depending on the class of employees, you may be eligible for Pension or a Company Match on the 401k. Michigan CAT also pays into the Union Pension Plan for all Union employees. Michigan CAT offers Retiree's Medical Protection Plan upon meeting eligibility requirements. Flex Spending Account: Employees assign dollar amounts to be transferred from their gross pay pre-tax to a special account that is used to pay for health care or dependent care expenses. In effect, you create a tax shelter for these dollars.
