Engine and Tranmission Rebuilds

Give your CAT machine a new life with a Caterpillar Certified Power Train Rebuild.

A rebuild with Michigan CAT incorporates all critical engineering updates and improvements, while restoring the power train to just like new performance and productivity.

The program covers the radiator, engine, transmission, torque converter, transfer gear box, universal joints and drive shafts, differentials, final drives, brakes, power train electrical switches, sensors and sending units.

Upon completion, a full testing of rebuilt and repaired components is performed. Engines are dynamometer tested, and hydraulic components, transmissions and torque converters are bench tested.

Hydraulics

Our legendary attention to detail keeps your hydraulic components in top working order. The longevity of your hydraulic systems will be compromised if the system is not properly maintained.

We offer the most advanced diagnostics and tooling available:

• Cylinder Inspection: Work is performed by our Hydraulic Specialist.


• Light Honing: Cylinder receive light honing, even those only needing to be resealed. This assures you of having a cylinder that will perform at optimum levels and live longer without leaks.


• Heavy Honing: Corrects irregularities and cylinder damage. This renews barrel life when used with oversized seals.


• Re-tubing: New tubes are custom-made using OEM Specifications. Custom-made tubes carry a parts and labor warranty.

Surface and Undercarriage

Welding and Fabrication

The Weld Shop and Fabrication services include stick, MIG and TIG welding. This is performed to repair and rebuild machines and attachments. Welding services can be performed on site or at our shop. Our field welders have worked in many harsh and difficult environments and are AWS (American Welding Society) certified. This department also performs welding services on other makes and brands of equipment.

Fluid Analysis

Are wear metals lurking in your components, causing abnormal wear and threatening a shut down?

By analyzing the different types of metals within the oil sampling, it is possible to determine if a problem is imminent.
